A one-car crash on the Colorado Nationwide Monument Sunday resulted Inside the demise of The driving strain and the hospitalization of a passenger.

James MacQueen, 75, of Grand Junction, was killed when his automotive went off the road A few mile from the Fruita entrance to the monument and ended up about 200 ft down a steep slope, monument Chief of Interpretation Arlene Jackson said.

The crash occurred at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Jackson said.
